GREENEVILLE – Popular Christian singer-comedian Mark Lowry will return to Greeneville at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 18 for Takoma Regional Hospital’s annual holiday concert at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center. Lowry will perform with acclaimed pianist Stan Whitmire.
This will be Lowry’s third show at NPAC. He was the first performer in the newly opened NPAC six years ago with a sold-out show. He returned in 2007 for another blockbuster concert.
Tickets may be purchased at NPAC from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday-Saturday. Credit card purchases may be made by calling 423-638-1328 or by going to www.greenevillenpac.com.
General admission tickets are $35 per person. A special VIP package for $100 includes preferred seating, a Lowry CD, and entry to a pre-concert reception with Lowry, where ticketholders can be photographed with the performer. Group sales of 10 or more tickets receive a $10 discount so that the reserved seats are $25 and VIP, $90.
“Mark is wildly popular in this area and is certain to put on a terrific show,” Lindy Riley, director of volunteers at Takoma, said. “I encourage the community to come out for a wonderful evening of music and comedy, as well as support our hospital.”
Proceeds from this year’s concert will go toward purchasing a new central fetal monitoring system, Riley said.
“This new system will allow Takoma’s physicians and nurses to monitor its mothers and fetuses from any location in our hospital,” she said.
The system also will link the fetal monitors in the hospital’s obstetrics unit to doctor’s offices and homes. “This new system will allow for constant fetal surveillance,” Riley said.
Lowry’s previous concerts helped pay for the hospital’s Emergency Center expansion and renovation, and the Intensive Care Unit’s renovation.
